How far do you think being nice can take you?
It can take you all the way to the doors of heaven and, maybe, even help you inside those doors.
We are here on Earth to live the life we desire, but it is far more complicated than it seems. We are firmly aware that life is not easy at all, and it will never be.
I sincerely think that we should be nice to others. I thought being nice was enough because as long as we spread positivity and be non-judgemental towards others, we can create an impact on people. But lately, I have found that only being nice will not get us anywhere unless we bring something of value to the table.
We live in an ever-changing world, and learning in-demand skills is indispensable for a thriving career and happy life. Often we think about opening a venture, starting a podcast or a YouTube channel, and whatnot. But the most intriguing part is that we spend almost half of our time in the world existing in our minds and not in the real world.
According to an article published in Harvard Gazette in 2010, people spend 46.9 percent of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing, and mind-wandering typically makes them unhappy.
So, instead of just weaving dreams inside our minds, we need to get out and work towards making them a reality. I will not say the easiest, but the aptest way of achieving your goals is to get done what you should be doing, not what you want to do. Sometimes, it feels as if we are under a big rock of guilt or regret, and no matter what we do, it is impossible to lift the weight off, and this is because we are not doing what we should be doing. Our mind knows we are not moving in the right direction, but addictions and comfort zone get in the way.
You might have heard this quote by Alexander Den Heijer:
“You often feel tired, not because you’ve done too much, but because you’ve done too little of what sparks a light in you.”
So, breaking the chains we have built around ourselves and getting things done instead of just thinking about them can get us far ahead in life.
Eventually, being nice and valuable will help us in both realms, the Earth as well as Heaven.
